Day 1: CEO Workshops, Loloata Private Island Resort

Day 1 of the fourth gathering for CEOs kicks off at the Loloata Private Island Resort.

First up, ‘Women in Super’ saw Sarah Boxall & Michelle Bavuudorj of PSDI lead the session supported by presentations from the Fiji National Provident Fund, NasFund, Solomon Islands National Provident Fund, and Nambawan Super. The session covered sex-disaggregated data, the informal economy, and financial literacy across the Pacific and ended with the members agreeing on new resolutions that will be tabled at the Annual General Meeting tomorrow.

Aaron Levine from The World Bank followed with a workshop on Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) and its relevance to the Pacific Funds and their investment portfolios. Consideration of external factors now require a response by the members for the development of policy. The members are at the very early stages of policy discussions but have a long cultural history of managing our environment sustainably, and that will ensure relevant solutions for our Funds.

To finish, Mark Brennan CIMA® and David Brown reported to the CEOs the updates on the progress of the co-investment platform MOU and the Investment Group Form. Key developments include completed business plan, engagement with partners to support investment function, and integration of ESG
